Nice long drive for a picnic place with trail walk. Good sunset place as well. We did BBQ and played cricket with friends. It was fun going on the top as well.
Beautiful area with breath taking 360 views of the whole Delaware valley. A good hike or simple picnic if you want. Bring your binaculars and watch the birds and the surrounding areas..
Again, another fine set of views to be had from this vantage point in NJ. The monument has never been open when I've been there, so I cannot speak as to the view from the top, but the views are great even from the base. the AT does not actually enter this area, but kind of skirts around it, there is a side-trail that will take you there if you so desire.
The views from the parking lot and the base of the monument are really nice and easy to get to. Just drive. Short walk to the monument. Walking to the top was only a dollar but I'm not sure it's worth it. First off, if you're in bad shape like me (and I'm 24), the climb isn't exactly easy. There's a first set of spiral stairs then a large series of stairs to the top (pic attached). I'm a little afraid of heights and this set up unnerved me a bit. Once at the top, there really isn't much to see. The windows are all dirty and foggy and pretty small. Really doesn't provide a great view. There's also no information up top. Just a small room with an electronic buzz from something. The climb down was easier obviously but two days later and I'm still sore. Next time I'll just skip the stairs.
